Olivier Desport has crossed the finishing line at 1:13 pm GMT today and won the second leg and the race in the one design division with his Pogo. In 1999, he had already won the second leg of the Mini-Transat and finished third overall. His main opponent was 30 miles away.
At 5:30 pm GMT, fifteen boats had crossed the finishing line in Salvador de Bahia. Thirteenth is Samantha Davies, first woman of the second leg, arrived three hours ahead of Jeanne Grégoire.

Avec l’arrivée de Christian Saury s’est terminée cette nouvelle édition de la Mini-Transat, baptisée cette année Transat 650 Charente Maritime - Bahia. As the 14 giant three-hulled speed machines were towed out of the Paul Vatine Basin in Le Havre mid-morning to begin their 5,300 mile transatlantic drag race, the sky cleared, the breeze filled in from the North at 12 – 15 knots, and the sun lit up the bay off St. Adresse – all the finest ingredients for a truly spectacular start !
