FORMULA EXPERIENCE : Nicolas Schreier retains the world champ title

Three races on the final day, making a total of 12 races for the Championship, and Nicolas Schreier PER 2 retains the title of Formula Experience World Champion.

• 1st Lady ‐ Demita Vega de Lille,MEX 5 (7th overall)

25 year old Nicolas from Lima, Peru prefers windier conditions but nailed this championship with 7 wins and finished a good 14 points ahead of his nearest rival, 46 year old grand master Luis Fernando Souza from Brazil, who had headed the leaderboard at the start of the event.

Mexican Youth, Maricio Martinez, who had also had a spell at the top, was unable to maintain his form and ended in bronze position.

16 year old Mexican Ignacio Berenguer from Cancun, winner of race 6 and with all his other counting results in the top five, finished in fourth.

First lady was Demita Vega de Lille from Cozumel, Mexico, 7th overall.

A light wind event with temperatures of 24‐28 degrees every day, Wind Adventure Mexico and the Mexican Windsurfing Association are to be congratulated for their organisation ; making sure there was plenty going on, from Stand Up Paddle Board competitions to colourful and fun beach activities. A most memorable event.

4 races on day 4 of the Formula Experience World Championship in Cancun Mexico. Nicolas Shreier moves into top spot with 3 race wins today. Top youth Mauricio Martinez drops into second overall ; and under 17 Mexican Ignacio Berenguer moves into the 3rd podium position.

It was only possible to complete one race, late in the day, on day 3 of the FE Worlds in Cancun.

It is all change at the top of the overall ranking, as youth Mauricio Martinez (MEX 95) takes the lead after winning race 5. Moving up into second place is Nicholas Schreier (PER 2) with a 3rd in today’s race. Consistency is the name of the name if you want to become, and remain, a world champion ! The overnight leader, Luis Souza (BRA 100) drops to 3rd overall after a race he will hope to forget. Moving up to 4th overall, and first female, is Demita Vega (MEX 5) ‐ who is improving her position with every race and finished 2nd in the only race of the day.

In fifth place overall is the leading junior (under 17) rider, Ignacio Berenguer (MEX 11).

The sailors in the top 5 positions prove that this class is one for both genders and all age groups ‐ junior to grandmaster !

Day 2 ‐ A total of four races has now been completed and the first discard comes into play. Luis Fernando Souza’s lead has been challenged by youth Mauricio Martinez MEX 95 who is now on equal points with today’s second place followed by a win on day two of the 2011 Formula Experience World Championship taking place at Marina La Amada, Cancun, Quintana Roo, Mexico.

Nicolas Schreier PER 2 winner of race three has been knocked down to third place but nevertheless is just one point behind on the leaderboard ! In fourth place is junior Ignacio Berenguer MEX 11 but already there is a gap of 7 points between him and the top three.

DAY ONE ‐ 11 countries are represented by 46 competitors. Grandmaster Luis Fernando Souza is at the top of the leaderboard after winning the first two races of the Championship. After 4 hours of waiting at La Amada, the RC allowed us to go to the water. Just in seconds everybody set their sails and went to the racing area.

The first race was raced with 10 knots, and the second one with 12‐14 knots. And both were won by BRA 100 (Fernando Souza). He really showed that being a grand master does not matter to have good performance.

As a surprise, we have sailors from junior to grand master in the top five. Anyone has chance win a race !!!
