Pierre Rolland takes the lead in the west of Mc Kee
After a long wait, the full effects of the doldrums are gradually coming into play with a fair few of the controls changing hands. Though David Raison (440 - Rayon Liquide) remains the games master amongst the Series fleet, it is now Pierre Rolland (247 - Extrado) in the lead in the Proto fleet. -

McKee reels in the miles after passing Cape Verdes
He keeps on going the man from the States, positively reeling in the miles. At present he is stealing along at an average of 8 knots while his rivals top just 6 knots in the middle of the Cape Verdes. The night has proven to be a particularly good one for Jonathan Mc Kee (247- Team Mc Lube) and comparitively disastrous for his adversaries. -

He has been an Olympic champion, double world champion, part of the last American challenge on « One World » during the America’s Cup. Some doubted his abilities as an ocean skipper but here he is at the head of the fleet in the second leg of the Transat 6.50. -

Jonathan McKee et Jaume Mumbru déclassés à l’issue de la première étape
La deuxième étape du Mini Pavois, Portsmouth - Douarnenez (300 milles) sera donnée, ce dimanche à 13h (heure française). Sur les 41 concurrents engagés à La Rochelle, ils ne sont plus que 26 en course. Mais, le petit monde de la classe 6,50 a été secoué, samedi, par le déclassement des deux premiers de la catégorie Proto.
