On Friday afternoon, Alexandra Lux, Stéphanie Geyer-Barneix and Flora Manciet went at the end of an incredible challenge : crossing of the North Atlantic in paddle Paddle #standuppaddle #paddleboard board, is nearly 5000 km by the arms ! The three gilrs left the East coast of USA on July 5. From the island of Breton Cape, they joint CapBreton in the South West coast of France after an adventure which has lasted 53 days…

Through courage and of determination, the three ladies achieved this unthinkable challenge. During nearly 53 days, against winds and tides, they faced this Ocean with naked hands… Followed by a catamaran managed by the navigator Yves Parlier, the girls took turns 21:00 /24h with knees or lengthened on their paddle Paddle #standuppaddle #paddleboard board, a board of 17 feet.

Towards 15:00 local time, it is with their legendary smile that Stéphanie, Flora and Alexandra put feet at ground. Meeting again with the friends, the family, it is very moved, which the girls delivered their first impressions :

- Stéphanie Geyer-Barneix : “It is magic, what arrives to us ! This challenge I imagined a few months ago, here it is concretized ! Such an amount of people on arrival, it is insane. All the encouragements received during the crossing via our blog, helped us much but we could not imagine such a phenomenon. I make a point of thanking all our partners who answered present and who supported us at the beginning of the project and of course the public, from Capbreton, Landes countryside and the others…”

- Alexandra Lux : “I am very happy to find the dry land, we lived an extraordinary adventure and this fabulous arrival does nothing but amplify this feeling. I do not realize completely because all passed very quickly. But, there is nearly 5000 km behind us… At three, with six arms, we crossed the North Atlantic ! I have beautiful images so much at the head, to row with the whales, the dolphins, the rising and sunsets…”

- Flora Manciet : “When Stéphanie proposed this project to us, we immediately accepted. During nearly two months, obviously a little difficult moments ago, I do not hide to have wanted in Stéph some time of them, especially the night when it was necessary to go back to water (to laugh). But thanks to the support of the crew and our close relations, we went to the end… It will be necessary to take time to realize and benefit from this single moment…”

In front of an incredible crowd, before ovationner new heroins of the Atlantic, the many personalities present delivered their emotions.

- Stéphanie Geyer-Barneix : “I just start to realize of the distance which we carried out, it is enormous ! Physically, I feel well, not large sores but tiredness is made more and more feel. The more so as, more we approach, more we want to go quickly !”

Giant screen, village of the partners, initiation to the rescue… The committee of reception in Capbreton was with the height of the event. There is no doubt that this Friday August 28, 2009 will remain in the memories of these three funny ladies who had sworn themselves to fulfill their mission, costs that costs. Successful mission girls…
