After forced stand by caused by tropical cyclones Ana and Bill, good weather conditions have been confirmed yesterday and the starting signal has been done by the route planner, Christian Dumart.
Since the announce, Benoit and PYM have installed everything and stay ready. They prepaired their equipment and spent their last hours on the phone with their wives and children.
This Monday 24th August 2009, sun Zenith in New York , 6 PM in France, Octo Finances is leaving Liberty Landing Marina and its statue (40°41’20.62"N 74° 2’40.68"O), and heading to the Cité de la Voile in Lorient Lorient L’actualité du port de Lorient et de sa région. (47°43’53.89"N 3°22’28.38"O). The distance is more than 3000 miles and they should sail in less than 13 days with a medium speed of 10 knots...
