Cammas breaks a new record towards Cape Leeuwin
On crossing the line marking the longitude of Cape Leeuwin (115° 08’ E) at 04h 17’ 47’’ UTC this Monday 22nd February, Groupama 3 has obtained the best time over the section of course between Cape Agulhas, which marks the entry into the Indian Ocean, and the SW promontory of Australia : 6 days 22 hours 34 minutes. -

Groupama 3 late to Cape Agulhas
The weather situation is changing at the entrance to the Indian Ocean : Groupama 3 is right in the thick of it now and will have to compromise with a strong N’ly wind blowing down off Africa. Conditions are harsh but this shouldn’t continue for long and the trajectory towards Tasmania is likely to be very straight and fast. -

Majan and Musandam to depart from Muscat
On Saturday, 6th February, Oman Sail’s new A100 ‘Majan’ alongside their 75-ft multihull ‘Musandam’ will depart Muscat [Oman] to begin a new chapter in ocean racing as they embark on tracing out the route of the future Indian Ocean 5 Capes Race. -

Franck Cammas on track for the 3rd time
13h 55’ 53’’ UTC : Groupama 3 crossed the start line of the Jules Verne Trophy off the Créac’h lighthouse in Ushant. Franck Cammas and his nine crew set off at over twenty knots in a light N’ly breeze on the back of a mass of rain… This latest record attempt begins with some encouraging, albeit tricky weather conditions. -

Franck Cammas : "we can set off again"
Over the past 24 hours, the crew of Groupama 3 has been working together to contain the damage suffered around the beam bulkhead. Damage for Groupama 3 which stops racing

Cammas in 5 days 15 hours to the equator
After 5 days 15 hours and 23 minutes, Groupama 3 has crossed the equator, establishing a new reference time over this stretch of the course between Ushant and the line marking the switch of hemispheres.
